구글은 서울 삼성동에 위치한 ‘구글 스타트업 캠퍼스’ 개관 10주년을 맞아, 지난 10년간 한국 스타트업 생태계와 함께해 온 여정을 돌아보는 한편, AI 시대 새로운 기회를 함께 발굴하기 위한 ‘스타트업 AI 페스티벌(Startup AI Festival)’을 지난 6월 17일 개최했습니다.

‘AI 시대, 한국 스타트업의 리더십’을 주제로 개최된 이번 행사에는 카렌 피에스터(Karen Fiester) 구글 스타트업 글로벌 디렉터(Global Director, Google for Startups), 조이 사쿠라이(Joy M. Sakurai) 주한 미대사관 공관 차석을 비롯해, 임정욱 중소벤처기업부 창업벤처혁신실장, 김경훈 구글코리아 사장, 마이크 김 구글 스타트업 캠퍼스 아태지역 총괄 등 주요 인사들이 참석해 행사를 축하했습니다.

2일간 진행된 이 행사는 구글 VIP와 구글 스타트업 캠퍼스 졸업사 및 입주사들, 스타트업 관계자 및 VC분들이 참여하여 AI 스타트업 생태계 활성화에 대한 방향과 소통이 원활하게 이루어진 Festival이었습니다.

To mark the 10th anniversary of Google for Startups Campus in Samseong-dong, Seoul, Google hosted the Startup AI Festival on June 17—an occasion to reflect on a decade-long journey alongside Korea’s startup ecosystem while exploring new opportunities in the AI era.

Held under the theme “Leadership of Korean Startups in the Age of AI,” the event welcomed distinguished guests including Karen Fiester, Global Director of Google for Startups; Joy M. Sakurai, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Korea; Lim Jung-wook, Director General for Startup & Venture Innovation at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups; Kim Kyung-hoon, CEO of Google Korea; and Mike Kim, Head of Google for Startups Campus APAC, among other key leaders.

Spanning two days, the festival brought together Google VIPs, alumni and resident startups from Google for Startups Campus, as well as startup leaders and venture capitalists. It served as a dynamic platform for open dialogue and shared direction, fostering meaningful exchange on the growth and advancement of the AI startup ecosystem.
